GENERAL
  • The Panels shall be suitable for operation at 415 + 6% volt, 50 Hz, 3 Phase, 4 wire + E system.
  • The Panels offered shall be fabricated out of 2mm/1.6mm CRCA Sheet and shall have modular construction.
  • Panels will be free standing, floor mounting type having provision for cable entry from bottom or top as per your requirement.
  • The Panels will be extensible type in design with dust and vermin proofing.
  • The Panels will be in Fixed Type or Draw Out Type execution as per requirement.
SHEET METAL WORK
  • The Switchgear frame shall be fabricated using mild steel structural sections of pressed and shaped cold rolled steel of thickness not less than 14 SWG.
  • Frame shall be enclosed by sheet steel of thickness not less than 14 SWG cold rolled smoothly finished levelled and free from flaws. Doors & covers shall be made of sheet steel of thickness not less than 1.6mm cold rolled sheet. Stiffeners shall be provided wherever necessary.
  • Cut-outs shall be true in shape and devoid of sharp edges.
  • The complete structure shall be rigid, self supporting and free from twists and bends.
POWDER COAING
  • Pre-Treatment :- Phaosphateing (Plant ferrous)degreasing Tank No.-1
  • Pre-Treatment :- Water rinsing Tank No.-2
  • Pre-Treatment :- Water rinsing Tank No.-3
  • Pre-Treatment :- Dierusting Tank No.-4

  • Pre-Treatment :- Passivation Tank No.-9
  • Pre-Treatment :- Dry of condition to be specified oven heating at 90 to 100 C. 10-15 minutes.
  • After pre-treatment component will hang in powder coating booth and powder is sprayed on the component up-to 60 micron. After powder coating panel kept in oven and metal temp. 180 C. and oven temperature 200 C.-210 C. is given to component up-to 10 minutes.
PAINTING
  • Entire sheet metal work will undergo pre-treatment covering degreasing, water sinsing, derusting / phosphating using various tanks installed in Paint Shop.
  • After pre-treatment as described above, the sheet metal is sprayed with high corrosion resistant Etch Primer. The finishing treatment shall be application of synthetic enamel/air drying paint after necessary putty work.
  • We also have Electrostatic Powder Coating plant supplied by THERMAX DEVIL BISS LTD., Pune and as such are in a position to supply you POWDER COATED Panels in desired shade.
PANELS WILL BE
  • of the metal enclosed, indoor, floor mounted modular type construction.
  • of dust and vermin proof construction.
  • provided with labels on the front indicating the switchgear designation.
  • of uniform height of not more than 2450 mm.
  • provided with bus bars running all along the length of the panel.
  • shall be provided with doors having hinges and captive screws.
BUS BARS
  • Bus Bars shall be of uniform cross-section throughout the length of the switchgear.
  • Bus Bars shall be of high conductivity copper or high conductivity aluminum alloy of 63401 grade of IS:5082 as per requirement. In case of copper, current density will be equal to or less than 1.39 Amps per sq. mm and in case of aluminum, current density will be equal to or less than 0.90 Amps per sq. mm.
  • All Bus Bars will be air insulated and will be black painted for better heat dissipation. Bus Bars will be codified in Red, Yellow, Blue and Black colour as per standard practices.
  • Bus Bars shall be adequately supported and braced to withstand the stresses due to a fault level as spelt out at B-2 (b) on page 3 of 6 of Design Control Documents. Bus Bar supports shall be made of SMC/DMC/FRP.
INTERNAL WIRING

    Wiring inside the switchgear shall be carried out with 1100/650 volt grade, PVC insulated, stranded conductor wire of adequate sizes. Minimum size of conductor for power circuits will be 2.5 Sq. mm copper. Control circuits will be wired with copper conductor of at least 2.5 sq. mm for CT circuits and 1.5 Sq. mm for other circuits.

LABELS
  • All labels shall comprise of white letters on a black background or black letters on white background, as desired by customer..
  • Labels shall be made of engraved PVC or anodised aluminium or of any other material as specified by the client.
  • Labels shall be properly fixed using screws of appropriate size.
EARTHING
  • Panels shall be provided with earth Bus Bar running along the entire length of the board.
  • Earth Bus Bars shall be supported at suitable intervals.
TESTING

    Prior to despatch, the panels will be subjected to

  • Electrical Operation Test
  • Insulation Test at 2.5 KV for 1 minute (IS 8623).
  • Megger Test by 1000V megger.
  • Temp. Rise Test if desired (IS 9678 & 8623)
STANDARDS

    The Panels are designed to conform to the requirements of following standards.

  • IS 4237: General requirements for Switchgear & Control gear for voltages not exceeding 1000V.
  • IS 8623: Factory built assemblies of Switchgear and Control Gear.
  • IS 375: Marking and arrangement of Bus Bars.
All electrical used in the Panels will be suitable for continuous operation at 500 C Ambient Temperature.
COMPONENT RATING IN STARTER FEEDERS

    Ratings of switchgear components in DOL/SD starter feeders will be as per what has been specified by SIEMENS under Co-ordination type 2, Iq = 50 kA, IS 13947 or as specified by other equivalent switchgear manufactuers.
